The Undergraduate students of DPT Link road location organized a Summer Gala and character day on 2nd June 2nd, 2022. The main idea behind the Gala was to involve all the batches in fun-filled and thrilling activities to release their anxiety from the workload and enable them to spent time with one another. The students whole-heatedly decorated their class rooms into a beach theme setting and dressed up as their favorite Bollywood characters. Several on-minute challenge games like Ping-Pong, pop the balloon and musical chair were organized that were equally enjoyed by the available faculty members. Moreover, after the gaming session, the winners were given prizes and the best dressed male and female students were badged with the Title of ‘Lord of the Eve’ and Goddess of the Eve respectfully. In addition to this, the students also performed several songs on the keyboard and did karaoke with was applauded by all of the attendees. Lastly, a buffet lunch was organized by the students for which the faculty was also invited to.
The proud students of the Ziauddin College of Rehabilitation Sciences, Ziauddin University – Sukkur Campus celebrated Youm-e-Pakistan (The Pakistan Day) today with a great zest and zeal. The event was begun with the National Anthem of Pakistan and Ziauddin Anthem. The main core of the celebrations was set up with a Quiz Competition regarding the Pakistan Day in which all the students were set at large to participate after qualifying the open merit-based round. Meanwhile, the students showed an energetic participation throughout the Quiz Session. The short Quiz Competition was concluded with awarding the respective position holders of the said competition: Sanjah Mahar & Naveed Ahmed from DPT, Batch II (1st Position), Muhammad Adil & Areesh Fatima DPT, Batch I (2nd Position) and Tasawur Banu & Unsa Fatima, DPT, Batch I (3rd Position). The marvelous eve got its ending note with appreciation to the winners from the faculty and a group photograph of the ZCRS-SUKKUR family.
On the 10th of March 2022, a movie day was organized by the students of DPT Batch-XI at Ziauddin College of Rehabilitation Sciences, Link Road location. For this specific event, a thriller film/documentary ‘The Nightmare’ was chosen on popular demand of the students. Likewise, the students decorated their classroom turning it into a mini theatre and also dressed up in accordance to the theme. The basic goal of the event was to provide students with quality time after the mid-term examination ended. Moreover, the students were also provided with refreshments to devour on whilst they enjoyed the movie. The refreshment included popular savory items like: popcorn, soft drinks, and pizza.

Purpose: Educate and train people related to fitness and flexibility training.
Definition: Flexibility training is all about range of motion related to muscles and joints,also types of stretching are discuss in details.
Procedure: I had conducted a Flexibility training webinar class on Sunday 11:00 am to 1:00pm. I explained stretching types and benefits in details. I used some instrument and equipment for the proper demonstration. Provided practical examples of all types of stretching and also engaged people in stretching exercises to make more entertaining and interesting session.
On Wednesday, March 09, 2022, the worth Vice-Chancellor of Ziauddin University paid a surprise visit to the Ziauddin University, College of Rehabilitation Sciences – Sukkur Campus early in the morning.
The prestigious VC presented a wonderful instructive and motivational session on interpersonal skills, entrepreneurship, and professional development. The students warmly welcomed the Vice Chancellor’s recommendations, and also participated actively with many constructive questions and answers during his talk. The VC was in the end honored with a group photo with the faculty and students of the ZCRS – Sukkur Campus.
Ziauddin College of rehabilitation sciences (ZCRS) while focusing its vision of producing competent and dedicated health care professionals has moved a step ahead into the community to promote WHO 2030 rehab initiatives. To develop a strong multidisciplinary rehabilitation workforce that is suitable for country context, and promoting rehabilitation concepts across all health workforce education, Department of occupational therapy ZCRS has initiated collaboration with institutes Karachi Vocational Training Centre, Dewa Academy, Learning Hands, Pakistan Centre of Autism and Imran Rehabilitation Sciences. The MOU signing ceremony was conducted at ZCRS boat basin location on 18th February 2022, Principal of the college Dr. Sumaira Imran Farooqui was delighted to share her views of growing the work force and promoting integration between the stakeholder for marginalized population, Director ORIC, Dr. Zulfiqar emphasized on collaborative research work for evidence based practice in rehabilitation, MS. Qurat ul ain Adnan head of Physical Education, Health and Sport Sciences also suggested physical fitness and sports training for future collaboration. Ms. Neelum Zehra, head of Occupational Therapy Department was the conceptualist for building up the relationship in the industry, she visions this agreement as improvement in integration of rehabilitation into the health sector and strengthening intersectoral links to effectively and efficiently meet population needs.
Ziauddin College of Rehabilitation Sciences organized a Guest speaker session regarding Diploma in Fitness training program on 13th February 2022 respectively. For this session, Mr Omair Khaliq Sultan was invited to address the students who conducted a detailed session starting from 11 am to 1 pm. Mr. Omair khaliq enlightened the DFT students regarding effective powerlifting procedures including proficient methods of powerlifting and also involved in an interactive session to cater queries of the attendees. Overall, it was a knowledgeable session for the students who are keen to choose fitness training as their career path. Lastly, the participants also received certificate of attendance on this valuable session.
Ziauddin College of Rehabilitation Sciences successfully enrolled its Twelfths Batch of Doctor Physical Therapy, Fifth batch of Doctor of Occupational Therapy and fourth batch of Bachelors of Health Physical Education and Sport Sciences for the year 2022. The commencement day for the newly enrolled batches was held on the 21st December 2021 at the Abul Hasan Jaffery Auditorium Ziauddin University Clifton campus. The ceremony was graced by the presence of Chancellor, Pro chancellor, Registrar and other dignitaries of Ziauddin University along with the principal ZCRS.
The commencement day started with the recitation of the holy Quran and the audience rose in respect for both the national and Ziauddin University’s anthem, followed by a brief video regarding life at ZCRS. The new batch was officially handed over to the Principal, Ziauddin College of Rehabilitation Dr Sumaira Imran Farooqui by the honorable Registrar Engr. Rtd. Capt S. Waqar Hussain. Dr Prof. Sumaira, Principal at ZCRS congratulated and welcomed the new batches on beginning their new expedition with ZCRS and briefed the audience regarding the evolution of ZCRS.
The Dean, Faculty of Health Sciences, Dr Abbas Zafar also spoke on the occasion and wished the students luck for their transition from being intermediate students to university students. Moreover, the Chancellor Dr. Irfan Haider also dignified the event by his presence and acknowledged the students regarding the legacy created by Late Dr. Sir Ziauddin Ahmed and he further gave students some exceptional piece of advice to benefit them excel their university life and professional life ahead focusing on the significance of Jamal-e-Fan and Kamal-e-Fan. On this special Occasion, the Pro Chancellor Dr Nida Hussain also addressed to the audience and assured the students regarding the extended support of the university to help them succeed in their fields.
During the ceremony, the representative students of DOT batch III brought miniature gardens planted by them as souvenirs for the honorable guests as a token of appreciation. After the distribution of souvenirs, the Principal of Ziauddin College of Rehabilitation Sciences, Prof. Dr. Sumaira Imran Farooqui introduced the students to the Faculty of the all the four locations of ZCRS i.e. North, Boat Basin, Link Road and Sukkur campus. Secondly, a brief introduction regarding the administrative and non-teaching staff was also given who tirelessly work to ensure that all the activities within the college are smooth.
The post-graduate program coordinator at ZCRS, Dr. Amna Aamir khan also addressed and acknowledged students regarding the opportunities for them to continue further education in the field of physical therapy apart from choosing their career in the clinics. Moreover, the clinical head for Ziauddin group of colleges for Rehabilitation Sciences, Dr. Prof. Abid Mehdi Kazmi shared a few words of wisdom for the students as well. To make the event memorable, group photographs of the students with the faculty and chief guests were taken after which a brief informative session was conducted by the faculty of ZCRS. Mr. Zaki Hasan and Miss. Zulekha Saleem Assistant professors at ZCRS who enlightened the students regarding the examination policy of the college. Moreover, the Informational and Technology department representative Mr. Minhaj also trained the students regarding the student portal and handling of their accounts for academic activities. Lastly, the Office of Students Affairs Ziauddin University briefed students regarding the exciting events incoming their way to make their academic journey more happening and lively. Special giveaways were distributed among the newly admitted students to make their day even more memorable.
Ziauddin College of Rehabilitation Sciences feels proud to announce that one of our alumni Dr. Mubarak Ali from Doctor of Physical Therapy batch I participated and won the first price at the World Leisure International Art Contest. ZCRS encourages students to explore their creative side and supports the development of artistic skills within students through participation in recreational and artistic activities. With that being said, ZCRS Congratulates Dr. Mubarak on his victory and hopes that he succeeds in his future endeavors as well.
